Brass, 8 day, spring driven movement No. 6 ¼, signed  Ansonia Clock Co. New York, U.S.A.  strikes on a coiled gong and has brass pendulum bob. In a white metal case, figural top depicts a seated Isaac Newton holding a globe, next to a book stand with inkwell on top; long cast metal base with an ebony finish and figural mount on the front. Finish on the metal is worn in some spots. 15 in. high x 17.5 in. wide.
